Exhibition at Backyard #3: Jakarta Doeloe + SKRG

Due to Jakarta's birthday on June 22nd, Backyard presents Jakarta Doeloe + SKRG.

A one day filled with Jakarta-themed event, where I will be exhibiting a few of my Lomo works, and also photo works of my beloved talented friend/photographer Stephany Yaya Sungkharisma and more of Jakarta's talented people!

If you're in town, please do come by and say hi. It will be an interesting one.

Daphne Guinness: Undressed

Director Brennan Stasiewicz Captures Fashion’s Enigma At Home and On Display

Documentary filmmaker Brennan Stasiewicz infiltrates the cosseted world of Daphne Guinness in Daphne’s Window. Featuring intimate footage of the icon at her Fifth Avenue apartment, the short follows the eccentric fashion patron and socialite as she prepares for her recent installation in the windows of Barneys New York. The storefront showcased her collection of pieces by designer Lee Alexander McQueen and a selection from the archive of fashion editor Isabella Blow, which Guinness purchased in its entirety last year. The display culminated in a performance art piece in which Guinness dressed for the Met ball in one of the flagship’s windows, modeling a lilac feathered gown designed by McQueen’s Sarah Burton. “She appears to me as someone always in a window,” says Stasiewicz. “Someone you can approach and see, but you remain on the other side.” This year brings a multitude of projects for the heiress: her sculptural armored glove collaboration with jeweler Shaun Leane (pictured in today’s film) will be exhibited by Jay Jopling in a private viewing in London later this month; and in September a retrospective at The Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology will pay homage to her style. “Daphne is someone to take pleasure in, and in many ways, someone who incites moments of wonder,” says Stasiewicz.

HELLO JUNE!

Welcoming my most favourite month of the year!!!

This month will be a special month, since it's gonna be my blog's 3yrs anniversary

and, just 27 days left 'til I turn 29.

Yes, I'm aging! Sad but true, I will try to take it easy and put the word "Forever Young" keep spinning in my head. Tee hee!

Might also have my first giveaway, so keep checkin' out the blog boys and girls.

Let's make this month a special one. Let yourself bathe in the sun, go on a vacation, play in the sand, relax on the beach or visit the places you want! Or I might suggest, visit Indonesia! Because it's starting to get warm and all sunny, here.

Mods Mayday

Mayday..Mayday!

Weekend ending in May, scootering around the city with another 999 scooter friends!

It was a massive convoy, with mostly everyone dressed up in Mod-style inspired.

Fun fun fun, despite getting my hair damp and sweaty thanks to Jakarta's humid air and being stuck in my Doraemon helmet (which is not Mod-related whatsoever) and don't forget the dry lips after the ride.

That made me realized how much we need to get the right helmets to ride 'Arizona' and also to keep hydrated when u're on ur bike/scooter.

If you're wondering, yes, Jacky's Lambretta name is Arizona Muse.

Because we love her so much, and she's such a beauty.
